May 12: Dave Phillips:

Self-described “ritual protest music,” Dave Phillips researches and ponders existences and behaviourisms humanimalistically. Sound as communication in direct and primal form, a language, a tool of metaphysics, a conscience and a consciousness. Opposing the omnipresent restriction and reduction of life and living. sound communications that activate primordial shared emotions otherwise hidden under the debris of civilisation. inviting rumination, encouraging intervention, and endorsing catharsis.

His methods are audio de/construction, psycho-acoustics, sonic rituals, composition and performance. His tools are voice, body, field recordings, electronics, objects, and video.

Listen to his experimental music here.

May 13: United and Strong

From Berlin, United and Strong have performed countless shows in 22 countries on 3 continents, including Russia, Turkey, Brazil, Morocco, Ukraine, and Spain. United and Strong has survived, and will continue to survive bands, trends, and shirt designs. The band has a strong working-class ethos and does everything by themselves, with an antifascist attitude, in the hopes that hardcore is still relevant. United and Strong keeps on following the same ideas and ideals that made them pick up their instruments in the first place 16 years ago.
